The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild è stato eletto gioco dell’anno agli Italian Video Game Awards. La cerimonia, che si è svolta nella cornice del Teatro Vetra di Milano, ha premiato tutti i videogame più importanti dell’anno, tra cui l’ultimo capitolo della celebre saga creata da Shigeru Miyamoto.
Promossa da AESVI – l’associazione che rappresenta il settore dei videogiochi in Italia -, gli IVGA hanno consegnato il celebre Drago d’Oro anche ad altre categorie tra cui “Best Selling Game” – andato a Fifa 2018 – , “Best Family Game” e “Best Italian Game”, andati entrambi a “Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle”. Tra le novità le categorie “Game Beyond Entertainment” – che ha premiato “Last day of June” di Ovosonico – e “Radio 105 eSports Game of the Year”, andato a “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege”.
Ad assegnare i premi è stata una giuria composta da nomi di spicco del settore gaming in Italia, guidata dal giornalista del Corriere della Sera Federico Cella. Il pubblico, invece, ha deciso a chi assegnare il “People’s Choice”, andato a “Horizon: Zero Dawn”.
Oltre alla premiazione, durante lo show condotto da Rocco Tanica e Lucilla Agosti si sono alternati sul palco anche alcuni ospiti nazionali e internazionali. Tra questi Christine Burgess-Quemard, WorldWide Studios Executive Director di Ubisoft, Matthew Clarke e David Romero (Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege), e ancora Melina Juergens (il volto e la voce di Senua in Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice), Ian Dallas (creative director di Giant Sparrow) e David Fernández Huerta (Art Director di Ustwo Games).
